From the WorkRoom ....6097

I'm  a big fan of wrap dresses, and the mock wrap bodice on this NewLook dress is
no exception! I really love how they seem to have
 revamped their pattern look too.

Usually, I'm always put off by the cover models on the envelopes. I mean, sometimes the fabric selection or print take away from the design structure and I miss out on good patterns based on that! I guess that's why checking out the line drawings is so important. The, "WorkRoom from Project Runway", pattern covers definitely get my attention!

When I saw this one, especially with the pockets, I was hooked right away. It's
not a lot of variations in the design besides the sleeve length and
with or without a collar. I like simple.

This was a pretty easy dress to sew, no alterations were needed and
I did most of my sewing on the serger.
I cut a 14, and it fits pretty true to size, and drapes well along the bodice.

I didn't sew the belt included, but I did make  this one. I used my now most
favoritest (is that a word?) belt tutorial, I learned from my most
favoritest blogger Mimi G! I love her style, and you
can make one too here's her tutorial.

Knits are so easy to work with for me, and they wear so well. I'm really
trying to sew more wovens, which for me requires more altering and perfecting
fit. Every now and then though, I just want to sew up something quik and simple
and this was it! This is also from my stash, which I'm on a
mission to sew strictly from. I'm hoarding way too much and I need to
work thru what I already have. Plus my hubby sais my closet is too junky, :-/

This is my baby girl Tahlor, she's 11, and almost tall as me! (I'm 5'9) She loves
reading thru my blogroll and wanted to be on my blog.
So there you go, little mama, Love You !

Til my next post, C-ya!

  15. SUCH a cute dress - love the fabric you used! It looks expensive and def not 'home made'. Great job! Quick question - did you shorten the sleeves? I love the length
