S1365 | WIP's and a photo bomber

When Simplicity released their Summer patterns, I must admit I didn't immediately
run to the site like I have in past, because lately it's only been one maybe
two I'd purchase. But when I did get around to looking at the summer release,
surprisingly I really liked quite a few of them! Hey-hey!

Original Pattern

Now this one in particular I was very fond of (check out the price). I've had this original pattern pinned on my board forever!!! I was too excited that they re-released it!!!
My search was ova, ya hear, lol!

S2444 | Sew Dolly Clackett!

Here's my dress for the Sew Dolly Clackett. Better late than never, lol. I finished this earlier
in the week but didn't get to take pictures till I got off work,.....last nite!!
I know, I know, time management.;-)

This sew-along is hosted by Sarah, for all us who stalk Roisin's blog (dolly clackett) as a wedding
gift from the online community. All dresses are inspired in honor of her impeccable style of dresses.

A Little Retro....v8723

I love the "Mad Men style" that's been all over the blogs as of late, and I've been itching to make something retro or vintage. Of course I do have a few vintage frocks that's been thrifted and gifted to me from my Mom (she's a true collector). The funny thing is,... I've had this pattern for a minute, but never realized until I was re-organizing my stash closet, that I had almost the exact same fabric that's on the envelope!!

I think this style of dress lends a vintage, retro vibe to it. Ok, well yes it does have a lot of gathering to it, as mentioned in many reviews but I think it adds to the look. I mean wearing it, causes occasional involuntary twirl walking, skipping (followed by a little dizziness, lol) but I feel so darn dainty!!

More Flounce with M6024

I have to confess, this has got to be one of my favorite patterns from McCalls. In fact I’ve actually managed to make all views, so you know by now I don't need instructions for this right, (lol). This time I decided to try out my binder foot and  I’ve been itching to use this attachment since I picked it up last year. I’m glad I got it, because it’s soo much easier to use than the snap-on I originally had (this one is a low shank by Brother). I decided to use a prepackaged binding in red on the flounces and I lurved it!  The trim helped define the flounces and break up the busy pattern print a bit, so that worked out well. Although I haven't quite mastered  fabric content/descripts, I know it’s a cotton blend that I picked up from Joanns last year, it’s not stiff but very light weight so it moves well, and I do love fabric that flows….

M6024

I’m moving this dress off my “cutting table” list, (if I can figure out how to do that, technically)and showing her completed! Here’s my Review:

New Patterns,..well new to me anyway....

As I've mentioned before, I'm a 70's baby and I love anything from that era. I love long maxi's, jumpsuits, and bellbottoms! But of course with an updated spin, fabrics etc.
I was browsing Ebay and came across some great 70's patterns, that I just had to have!

The pink sleeveless jumper is just perfect for summer, and the maxi halter dresses are awesome, they are wrap dresses! I really like the ruffle around the neckline too! The last jumpers are cool, I love the fly collar. The change I will make on this baby is the placement of the zipper, it's in the back and it must be moved to the front.

More Mods......

Now, this one, I will be trying all views, lol. Love'em all!
Okay, I know some look pretty similar, but I just had to get them, lol.
