Simplicity 2406
What a jazzy little dress! I'm just luvin the cut-outs on the sleeves and that low open back, too cute. I've been a fan of Cythia Rowley patterns for some time, and she never disappoints, with her fun and trendy styles. So, I decided to go with a light-weight denim fabric, for my version of this dress and I'm pretty pleased with it! I love that it has inseam pockets, now I really dig pockets an all, but they can be a snitch for me to get right, lol. I also needed a drink to figure out those sleeve too, but I still love my dress tho, lol. Btw, I'm sure you kno this is not a bra friendly dress, right?
Pattern Description:
Pattern Sizing:
size range 6-22, I made the 14, view B
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were okay, I got confused on the sleeves.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The dress was great, but I had issues with the instructions on the sleeves, and I eventually figured those out. Honestly, I must say that I always have difficulty with inseam pockets, so surely, after a cocktail, all was well, there too.
Fabric Used:
lite-weight denim
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None, I just did some top stitching, to give more play to the denim design.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I only need one, but the other versions want me to make them too!
Conclusion:
Although this simple looking dress, gave me a challenge, I really love the design.
Thanx for stoppin by...

That dress is super cute!! I also love the way a cocktail makes everything better as I am totally with you on that one. A glass of wine has gotten me through many sewing rough spots...LOL!
ReplyDeleteHot dress, I love it! I may have to get this pattern though I think I would have to close up the back to make it more underwear friendly!
ReplyDeleteI had been looking and looking at this pattern not knowing how it would look. After seeing it on you that dress is HOT! I might have to copy you! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is too cute..I love the sleeves and the open back... Great job..
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I'm thinking of making this, but I'll make the "bra-friendly" version. Maybe a keyhole opening over the bra line.
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is too hot!. Lovin' your dress. It's on my radar, but I'll be sportin' this with a cami. My girls have gone too far south for that. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI saw the pattern and it looked so uninspiring until now. WOW! love it, I am going to buy the pattern.
ReplyDeleteWow, that did make up nice. Looks great on you too!
ReplyDeleteI have look at this pattern a dozen times and put it back. But I think this time I am ready..I am going to make it bra friendly. I am thinking about closing it to the bra strap.
ReplyDeleteSo Fab!
ReplyDeleteA very cute dress for summer. It looks good on you.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! This is on my to-sew list but I'm going to close the back I think. I NEED to wear a bra!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on this dress right now and am at step 15. How in the h@ll did you turn the sleeve facing thru that tiny opening???
ReplyDeleteGreat dress and I'm impressed that you figured out those pockets. I'm still scratching my head. I like the longer sash on your dress the was you're wearing it (to the side). And I definitely needed a drink after this one!
ReplyDeleteJust bought this pattern but am gonna have to get me a backless bra or I will be tripping over them. Lovely dress btw https://www.facebook.com/SassySewingBees
